Connectivity within your business is of paramount importance as it allows your communication to flow. Whether it is a voice call, video call, email or an instant message, these interactions form the backbone of your business so no element should be overlooked. That’s why at Apeiron, we use a consultative approach to get to know what your company needs both now and in the future to ensure we deliver the right solution for you.
Your internet and phone lines are the pathway to this connectivity and we know how important it is to get these working correctly. There are several types that can be used by a business...
An Integrated Services for Digital Network (ISDN) line is a circuit-switched telephone network system which transmits both voice and data over a digital line. ISDN was the transition from the traditional telephone lines to a digital offering but now is being replaced by newer technology.
In fact, in 2025, ISDN will no longer exist so all businesses will have to move away from it as a solution. This is thanks to the advent of internet-based phone calls or VoIP and cloud-based phone systems.
However, if you do still want to use this option in the short term, there are two main types available – ISDN30 and ISDN 2. We work with a range of major suppliers to ensure we get the best service and price for these.
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking is an upgrade to traditional phone systems and will ensure your business is protected for even more changes that might happen in the future. It works by connecting your existing phone system to the network using a broadband or Ethernet connection. Since it uses the internet for you to make calls, you get the benefits of a hosted system but at a low cost.
What are the benefits of SIP trunking?
Continuity – calls can be re-routed easily
Ease of installation – you won’t experience any disruption as you will keep the phone system you already have
Cost – a SIP can be considerably cheaper than an ISDN line
Call management – tools are available to help better manage your relationships
Broadband and leased lines
Most businesses these days would struggle to succeed without a reliable and efficient internet connection and that’s where Apeiron can help.
By consulting with you, we’ll understand what your business needs and will provide the right connection. As we’re independent, we have an unbiased view towards providers and work with a wide range of them. We’ll be your dedicated point of contact too meaning you won’t need to deal with any contact centres and issues will always be dealt with by skilled operatives.
There are several options on offer for your broadband or leased line. Take a look:
This is an option in areas of no fibre and is quick to install as it connects to your existing phone line.
Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) offers greater bandwidth capacity, delivering faster upload and download speeds and greater flexibility.
Fibre to the premises (FTTP) is one of the most modern forms of connectivity, and is incredibly fast. It uses two-stage fibre and creates a direct connection from your business directly to the internet.
Ethernet First Mile (EFM) technology is cheaper than fibre leased lines but it still supports VoIP and other cloud services.
A leased line connects your business to the internet more efficiently than most other broadband solutions as it connects via a single cabinet only. That is to say, you don’t share it with anyone else.
Synchronous speeds (uploads and downloads are as fast as each other)
No compromise in periods of high volume (as you will be the only one using the line)
Cost effective (as you only pay for what your business needs)
